Hamburg, 01.08.2022 – Thomas von Hake, Co-Managing Director of collectAI, will leave the Hamburg-based fintech for AI-based invoice and dunning payments at his own request on October 31, 2022. Until a successor is found, Co-Managing Director Sebastian Hoop will additionally take over Thomas v. Hake’s duties and become CEO.

Since July 2019, Thomas v. Hake achieved the successful market launch of the Intelligent Payment Platform collectAI in the management team together with Sebastian Hoop. Thomas von Hake was responsible for the departments Sales, Marketing and Customer Development. In this role, the 46-year-old looks back on the substantial scaling of sales of the Intelligent Payment Platform and the successful establishment of the collectAI brand. In recent years, the company has achieved a strong market position with its offering of AI-based receivables management for major customers in the B2B environment.

In addition, the fully qualified lawyer, together with Sebastian Hoop, was involved in the sale of the portfolio company founded by Otto Group in 2016 to Aareal Bank Group, which took place in March of this year.

“I am proud to be part of collectAI’s great growth story. Over the past years, we have restructured the organization and processes in sales, marketing and customer development. As a result, collectAI has grown substantially in terms of revenue in recent years and is thus optimally equipped for sustainable success,” says v. Hake. In the future, he would like to resume his own entrepreneurial activities and thus continue his successful start-up career. The native of Lower Saxony founded the company vehicle platform Firmen-KFZ.de in 2015.

Sebastian Hoop, the co-managing director of collectAI who has already been in charge of setting the technological course for the product and its further development since 2016, is taking over v. Hake’s duties on an interim basis.

He says: “Thomas and I have developed collectAI into a successful Invoice-2-Cash software company for a large number of companies in different sectors and industries, which can now enter an accelerated growth cycle under the umbrella of Aareal Bank Group. I would like to thank Thomas from the bottom of my heart for the enjoyable and very good cooperation and would always choose him again as co-pilot. I wish him only the best for his future.”

With his expertise in technology and data science, Sebastian Hoop will lead the company as a whole until a successor is found. At the same time, he will act as CEO of collectAI from November 1, 2022.

Lars Ernst, Managing Director Banking & Digital Solutions at Aareal Bank AG says: “I would like to thank Thomas v. Hake, whose experience and expertise have helped collectAI to enter a new phase of growth. Through the acquisition of Aareal Bank, collectAI can now expand both within the housing industry in Germany, as well as internationally in terms of sales. I regret Thomas’ departure, but I understand that he would like to dedicate himself to new challenges in the start-up scene and have more time for his private life. Therefore, I wish him all the best, luck and success for his personal and professional future.”
